Axiom Gallery 5/22/08

Today we took a trip to the Axiom Gallery on green street in Boston. Overall i was not to impressed by the exhibit, not to say that any of the works were not good, they just did not appeal to me personally. I guess I enjoy art that is in the more accepted form of traditional paintings and sculptures, with that said there were a couple of pieces that did appeal to me. These works were appealing to e because they were rather lacking in the super techy approach to art the works were the painting of the fluids that were in the process of separating due to their densities. This piece was a painting yet very intriguing and complex. it reminded me of a magic eye picture, in which if you stare at it long enough you can see a hidden picture...kinda cool. and the other piece was the box with the mirrors and chains. this was a really cool piece where it felt like there was four of me in the same little box. this piece is also rather mechanical therefore appealing directly to my major and my interests. Overall i probably would never go there again but i guess its not a bad little place to go during class to break things up.
