Concept of Fate...5/27/08

Today in class the concept of fate came up, which got me kind of excited as i disagreed with what most people in the class said regarding our control in our own fate. Alot of people said we have no control or that there is very little that we can control which limits of overall control of our fate I completely disagree with the above statement. i feel as though all the decisions we make in life control our fate control where our lives will end up etc. We have control of just about everything in our lives, we can all change anything in our lives. People said you couldnt control where you were born or what society you were born into..but then again our parents chose that fate for themselves and we are just a byproduct of their decisions. but as living human beings we control everything. if we wis to move we can, if we wish to go to school we can. If we choose to cease living we can. Everything we do has consequences that impact our lives. A point one person might bring up is say some one kills you, for example the people flying in 911 had no control over there fate that day, it was in the hands of terrorists. to play devil's advocate i will bring up the notion that it was there choice that they chose to fly on that day whether for personal reasons or for their work...for whom they chose to work for. so really if you trace back all your decisions from the moment you started making your own decisions your fate was beginning in those early moments of life.

Axiom Gallery 5/22/08

Today we took a trip to the Axiom Gallery on green street in Boston. Overall i was not to impressed by the exhibit, not to say that any of the works were not good, they just did not appeal to me personally. I guess I enjoy art that is in the more accepted form of traditional paintings and sculptures, with that said there were a couple of pieces that did appeal to me. These works were appealing to e because they were rather lacking in the super techy approach to art the works were the painting of the fluids that were in the process of separating due to their densities. This piece was a painting yet very intriguing and complex. it reminded me of a magic eye picture, in which if you stare at it long enough you can see a hidden picture...kinda cool. and the other piece was the box with the mirrors and chains. this was a really cool piece where it felt like there was four of me in the same little box. this piece is also rather mechanical therefore appealing directly to my major and my interests. Overall i probably would never go there again but i guess its not a bad little place to go during class to break things up.
